Vietnam's timber export value decreased by 45.46% month on month In the first half of August

Due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, Vietnam's timber and wood products production and export activities were seriously affected, resulting in a 45.46% decline in the export value of the timber industry in the first half of August 2021.

According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, in July 2021, Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products reached US $1.333 billion, a month on month decrease of 14.4%, of which the export of wood products reached the US $1.031 billion, a month on month decrease of 16.4%.

In the first half of August 2021, the export volume of wood and wood products only reached USD 373 million, a month on month decrease of 45.46%. Therefore, as of August 15, the total export volume of the timber industry had reached US $9.95 billion, of which the export volume of wood products had reached the US $7.7 billion.

In July 2021, the export volume of wood and wood products to many major markets decreased significantly. Among them, the export volume of wood and wood products to the United States only reached the US $853.68 million, down 16.44%; Exports to China reached 109.48 million US dollars, down 19.99%; Exports to France reached 9.24 million US dollars, down 26.25%; To Germany amounted to the US $8.13 million, down 15.94%; Exports to Malaysia decreased by 21.07%.

Due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic in domestic and Asian countries, the timber companies have to face the stagnation of production, export disruption and deceleration.

Novel coronavirus pneumonia is a major export market for Vietnam. The export prospects of Vietnam's timber and wood products are optimistic because the major export markets such as the US and EU countries are beginning to recover from the new crown pneumonia outbreak, so the demand for wood products will increase to meet the strong demand for building in these markets.
