// ENGINEERING ADVANTAGE

Out-of-tolerance wheels ruin chains.
Ours exceed every standard.

Two measurements define a grinding wheel's real-world precision. Both of ours beat the industry and national benchmarks — not by rounding, but by design.

Dynamic Balance

An imbalanced wheel vibrates at speed — causing uneven grinding, accelerated machine bearing wear, and inconsistent cutter geometry. Our wheels are balanced tighter than any competing standard.

Our Standard
< 1G
33% tighter
Industry Standard
< 1.5G
Minimum required

Aperture (Bore) Tolerance

A loose bore lets the wheel run off-center at speed. Our tighter tolerance guarantees a precise, centered fit on your sharpener spindle — critical for consistent per-tooth grinding depth.

Our Tolerance
0–0.10mm
37% tighter
National Standard
0–0.16mm
At 50% tolerance

// MATERIAL SELECTION

Choosing the Right Abrasive

The abrasive type determines how the wheel interacts with chain steel. Choose based on the chain material and the finish you need.

PA Aluminum Oxide — Standard

Hardness High
Toughness Excellent — self-sharpening under load
Heat gen. Low-moderate with correct technique
Best for Standard chain steel — routine and heavy sharpening
All SKUs 01–10 standard codes

SC Silicon Carbide — Hard Materials

Hardness Very high — harder than aluminum oxide
Toughness Friable — breaks down faster, stays sharp
Heat gen. Lower per pass on hard materials
Best for Carbide-tipped chains, harder exotic alloys
Availability Custom OEM — specify SC in your order

// USAGE GUIDE

How to Use a Chainsaw Grinding Wheel

STEP 01

Mount & Inspect

Fit the wheel onto the sharpener spindle. Confirm bore seating and torque the locking nut. Inspect the wheel face for cracks — never spin a damaged wheel.

STEP 02

Set Angle & Depth

Adjust the angle guide to your chain spec (typically 25°–35°). Set the depth stop. Consult your chain manufacturer's data for exact values.

STEP 03

Grind Each Cutter

Apply light, consistent pressure in one smooth pass per tooth. Keep the wheel moving — dwelling generates damaging heat and risks bluing the steel.

STEP 04

Clean the Wheel

Periodically dress the wheel face with a cleaning stick to clear resin and metal loading. A loaded wheel cuts slowly and runs hot.

STEP 05

Inspect & Replace

Check cutter uniformity across the chain. Replace the wheel when it reaches minimum safe diameter or the face is glazed and no longer cutting freely.

Safety: Always wear eye protection, gloves, and hearing protection when operating grinding equipment. Never exceed the wheel's rated maximum RPM. Inspect for cracks before each session. Guard must be in place during operation.

// FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 1F product code mean?
1F is the standardized shape designation for straight-faced grinding wheels used in chainsaw chain sharpening machines. The full code format is 1F-[Diameter]×[Thickness]×[Bore][Abrasive]. For example, 1F-100/105×3.2×22.2PA means a 100/105mm diameter, 3.2mm thick, 22.2mm bore wheel made with PA (aluminum oxide) abrasive.
What does dynamic balance less than 1G mean?
Dynamic balance measures mass distribution uniformity of a spinning wheel. An imbalanced wheel vibrates at speed, causing uneven grinding, accelerated machine bearing wear, and imprecise results. The industry standard requires balance within 1.5G. Our wheels are balanced to less than 1G — 33% tighter — delivering smoother operation, less vibration, and more consistent cutter geometry with every pass.
What is aperture tolerance and why is 0–0.10mm better than 0–0.16mm?
Aperture (bore) tolerance is how precisely the wheel's centre hole is machined relative to the wheel's outer diameter. A loose bore causes the wheel to run off-centre at speed, producing uneven grinding depth across cutter teeth and potential safety risk. The national standard permits 0–0.16mm tolerance. Our wheels are machined to 0–0.10mm — 37% tighter — ensuring the wheel runs true on your sharpener spindle from the first use.
Which bore size do I need — 10mm, 16mm, or 22.2mm?
The bore size must match your sharpening machine's spindle diameter exactly. 22.2mm is the most common bore for standard bench-mounted electric chainsaw sharpeners. 16mm and 10mm suit smaller or specific machine models. Check your machine's manual or measure the spindle — then match to the product code. Contact us if you are unsure.
Do you offer custom or OEM grinding wheels?
Yes. We offer fully customizable production — diameter, thickness, bore, abrasive type (PA, SC, diamond), grit grade, and hardness specification can all be tailored to your exact requirements. OEM private-label packaging is also available. Contact linyiyuping@hotmail.com or +86-15605390885 with your specification for a quote.
Why should I choose aluminum oxide over silicon carbide for chainsaw chains?
Aluminum oxide (PA) is the industry standard for most chainsaw chain sharpening because it combines high hardness with excellent toughness — it self-sharpens under load, cuts consistently, and lasts well on standard steel chain. Silicon carbide is harder but more brittle, making it better suited for carbide-tipped chains or harder alloys where its higher hardness is necessary to abrade the material effectively.
