Bintangor Face Veneer

Bintangor veneer is produced from the Calophyllum tree, a tropical hardwood from Southeast Asia. Rotary cutting peels a continuous sheet from the log, revealing the species' characteristic bold swirling grain and warm reddish-brown colour. It is widely used as plywood face veneer, furniture surface, cabinet door skin, and interior wall paneling. The colour deepens naturally with age, making Bintangor surfaces more characterful over time.

Key Features

What Makes Bintangor Face Veneer the Smart Choice

Bold Swirling Grain

Rotary cutting reveals Bintangor's wide, dynamic grain pattern — bold interlocked swirls that give panels visual depth and warmth that flat-cut cutting cannot produce from this species.

Cost-Effective Hardwood

Rotary cutting maximises log yield, making Bintangor one of the most affordable tropical hardwood face veneers available without compromising on genuine wood character and durability.

Durable & Versatile

A robust hardwood species, Bintangor performs reliably across demanding applications — furniture, cabinetry, doors, and wall paneling — where surface durability and a consistent face are required.

FSC Certified & Eco-Friendly

Sourced from FSC-certified responsibly managed plantations — confirming sustainable forest management and chain-of-custody for LEED, BREEAM, and eco-specification projects.

Low Formaldehyde Emission

Designed for better indoor air quality — low formaldehyde emission levels make Bintangor veneer suitable for health-conscious residential, educational, and hospitality environments.

Colour That Deepens With Age

Bintangor's warm light-to-medium reddish-brown tone enriches and deepens naturally over time and with finishing — a living surface that becomes more characterful the longer it is in use.

The Colour

A Warm Reddish-Brown That Deepens Over Time

Bintangor's colour is one of its most valued qualities. Fresh from production, the veneer presents a warm light reddish-brown tone — already beautiful, already distinctive. As the wood ages and is exposed to light and air, the colour gradually deepens into a richer, more saturated amber-brown.

This natural colour evolution means Bintangor furniture and panels become more visually interesting over years of use — not less. Applied with a clear finish, the natural reddish warmth is preserved and enhanced. Staining broadens the palette further — lighter species like maple can be tinted towards Bintangor's tone, while Bintangor itself takes darker tones with excellent depth.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bintangor face veneer?
Bintangor veneer is produced from the Calophyllum tree, a tropical hardwood from Southeast Asia. Rotary cutting peels a continuous sheet from the log, revealing the species' characteristic bold swirling grain and warm reddish-brown colour. It is widely used as plywood face veneer, furniture surface, cabinet door skin, and interior wall paneling. The colour deepens naturally with age, making Bintangor surfaces more characterful over time.
What is the difference between A, A1, B, and B1 grade Bintangor veneer?
A grade has minimal defects and uniform colour — best for premium visible surfaces. A1 grade allows minor natural character with a near-clear appearance — suitable for furniture, cabinet doors, and interior panels. B grade has more visible natural variation and is appropriate for standard plywood, commercial panels, and painted or stained surfaces. B1 is the economy utility grade — best for backing veneers, painted surfaces, and applications where the face will be covered.
Is Bintangor veneer FSC certified?
Yes. Our Bintangor veneers are sourced from FSC-certified responsibly managed plantations. FSC chain-of-custody documentation is available on request. This is suitable for LEED, BREEAM, and corporate sustainability procurement specifications. Please confirm FSC requirement when placing your enquiry.
What thickness should I specify for Bintangor face veneer?
0.12mm is the thinnest and most flexible, ideal for tight-radius curves and pre-lamination onto flexible substrates. 0.20mm is the most popular choice for furniture, door production, and wall panels — a good balance of workability and durability. 0.25mm provides more surface thickness for applications requiring multiple sanding passes. Custom thickness is available outside this range — contact us with your application details for a specific recommendation.
What is the minimum order and lead time for Bintangor veneer?
Minimum order quantity is 1 × 20' GP container. Orders ship within 15 days of receiving a deposit or confirmed L/C. Monthly supply capacity is 1,500 cubic meters for consistent large-volume supply. Payment is accepted by T/T or 100% irrevocable L/C at sight. Free samples are available before placing a production order.
