Actual grinding wheel and sharpening application

Actual product photos are shown for construction and application reference. Label artwork, colour tone and supplied dimensions may vary by model; verify the marked specification and approved sample before ordering or installation.

Purpose-built for compatible chain-sharpening machines

These bonded abrasive wheels are designed to dress and sharpen chainsaw cutter teeth on a suitable electric chain grinder. A correct wheel selection helps the operator reproduce the chain manufacturer's specified top-plate angle, side-plate profile and depth of grind with controlled material removal.

01

Defined wheel profiles

Multiple thicknesses support different cutter geometries when matched to the chain and sharpener setup.

02

PA vitrified construction

Pink aluminium-oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond is selected for controlled grinding and dressable wheel geometry.

03

Production-ready options

Diameter, bore, thickness, grit, label and packing can be confirmed for replacement, wholesale and OEM programmes.

Available specifications

Wheel specification Typical selection Buyer confirmation
1F — 100/105 × 3.2 mm Thin-profile chain-sharpening applications Confirm bore: 10, 16 or 22.2 mm as required
1F — 100/105 × 4.7 mm Wider cutter-profile applications Commonly supplied with 22.2 mm bore; verify machine
1F — 100/105 × 4.8 mm Wider cutter-profile applications Commonly supplied with 22.2 mm bore; verify machine
Abrasive / bond Pink PA aluminium oxide / vitrified bond Confirm complete wheel marking and material designation
Grit options 60, 80, 120 and 220 Choose according to cut rate, finish and chain material
Hardness designation 70 supplier designation Confirm test method or internal standard before comparison
Maximum operating speed As marked on the exact wheel Must meet the sharpener speed without exceeding the wheel rating
Other models Selected 145 mm configurations may be available Send full dimensions and machine details for confirmation
Dimension order: specify outside diameter × wheel thickness × bore in millimetres. Do not order by colour or nominal inch thickness alone; two wheels that look similar may use different bores, profiles, bonds or speed ratings.

How to select the correct chainsaw grinding wheel

1. Identify the sharpener

Send the machine brand, model, wheel guard capacity, spindle or flange arrangement and no-load speed.

2. Measure the wheel

Confirm outside diameter, thickness and centre bore from the original wheel or machine manual.

3. Identify the chain

Provide chain brand, model, pitch, gauge, cutter type and the manufacturer's sharpening specification.

4. Select the grit

Balance material-removal rate, heat control, finish and dressing frequency using a production-representative test.

5. Confirm the profile

The dressed wheel edge must match the required cutter geometry; profile is not determined by thickness alone.

6. Define the order

State quantity, model mix, labels, inner packing, carton marks, destination and required documents.

Controlled sharpening workflow

Stage 01

Inspect

Check the chain, wheel, guard, flanges and mounting surfaces. Do not use damaged components.

Stage 02

Set

Set the grinder angle, chain stop and depth according to the chain manufacturer's instructions.

Stage 03

Grind

Use light, repeatable passes and avoid prolonged contact that can overheat the cutter.

Stage 04

Verify

Check cutter consistency, wheel condition and depth gauges using the specified chain-maintenance method.

Safety and operating guidance

  • Use the wheel only on a compatible, guarded chainsaw chain sharpener—not on a handheld angle grinder unless the wheel and machine are expressly approved for that use.

  • Confirm wheel diameter, thickness, bore, flange fit and maximum operating speed before mounting. Never exceed the speed marked on the wheel.

  • Inspect for cracks, edge damage, moisture exposure or transport damage. Do not mount a questionable wheel.

  • Mount with clean, correct flanges; do not force the bore, overtighten the nut or modify the wheel.

  • Stand clear during startup, keep the guard closed and use suitable eye, face, hearing and respiratory protection.

  • Use light passes and allow cooling. Excessive pressure or dwell can overheat cutter teeth and damage the wheel.

  • Dress only with the approved dressing tool and method, and follow the machine, wheel and chain manufacturers' instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Will this wheel fit any electric grinder?
No. It is intended for compatible guarded chainsaw chain sharpeners. Verify the machine model, permitted diameter, wheel thickness, bore, flange system, guard and speed rating before ordering or use.
Which wheel thickness should I choose?
Choose the thickness and dressed profile specified by the chain or sharpener manufacturer. The available 3.2, 4.7 and 4.8 mm options serve different cutter geometries; chain pitch alone may not be enough to select safely.
What do 60, 80, 120 and 220 grit change?
Coarser grits generally cut faster, while finer grits can provide a more refined result. Actual performance depends on the abrasive, bond, chain material, pressure, dressing and machine speed, so test the selected wheel under controlled conditions.
Can it sharpen every type of chainsaw chain?
Do not assume universal compatibility. Send the chain model, pitch, gauge, cutter type and manufacturer-recommended sharpening geometry so the wheel dimensions and profile can be checked.
How can I prevent cutter overheating?
Use a correctly dressed wheel, light repeatable passes, suitable grit and controlled contact time. Avoid forcing the cutter into the wheel, and allow cooling between passes when required.
Are OEM labels and wholesale packing available?
OEM options may include wheel labels, inner packing and carton marks. Send the exact dimensions, grit, quantity, artwork, destination and compliance requirements so MOQ, sample availability, lead time and pricing can be confirmed.
