Wood grain and plain melamine facing paper for furniture, cabinetry, interior panels, doors, and laminate flooring — scratch-resistant, waterproof, heat-resistant, and easy to clean.

Key Properties
The cured melamine resin surface is significantly harder than most wood species. It resists scratching from everyday objects — keys, cutlery, utensils — that would visibly damage a lacquered or painted solid wood surface.
The non-porous melamine surface repels water and liquid spills, preventing staining and moisture absorption. Ideal for kitchen cabinet doors, bathroom furniture, and high-humidity environments.
The thermosetting resin provides a strong barrier against moderate heat exposure — resistant to hot cups, steam, and surface temperature variations encountered in kitchen and commercial environments.
The smooth, non-porous surface wipes clean with a damp cloth. No special cleaning products are required. The surface does not harbour bacteria in the same way as porous materials, making it a hygienic choice for food preparation areas.
Melamine paper can be printed with any wood grain, marble pattern, solid colour, or abstract design at very low incremental cost — offering design versatility that far exceeds solid wood, which is limited by its natural appearance.
Melamine resin contains nitrogen — a natural fire inhibitor. The material absorbs heat rather than combusting readily, acting as a heat sink. This gives melamine surfaces a higher ignition threshold than many alternative surface materials.

Product Types
Both types share identical core properties — scratch resistance, water resistance, heat resistance, and ease of cleaning. The difference is purely visual.
Printed with realistic wood grain patterns — oak, walnut, maple, pine, beech, teak, and many others. Modern digital printing creates highly convincing wood representations that are difficult to distinguish from real wood at normal viewing distance.
This type provides the warmth and character of natural wood at a fraction of the material cost, with none of the maintenance requirements of real wood surfaces.
Available in a full spectrum of solid colours — classic whites, off-whites, and creams for contemporary kitchens; greys and blacks for modern industrial aesthetics; and custom mixed colours for brand-specific or designer requirements.
Plain melamine surfaces create clean, seamless panels that read as crisp and modern — popular in Scandinavian-influenced interior design, healthcare furniture, and commercial office environments.
Note on colour accuracy: Melamine paper colours and grain patterns may appear slightly different on screen versus physical material, due to monitor calibration and photographic lighting. We strongly recommend requesting physical samples before committing to a production order. Samples are available free of charge on request.
Production & Applications
High-quality base paper is selected for ink absorption and resin compatibility. The design — wood grain, plain colour, or pattern — is printed using gravure or digital printing.
The base paper is passed through a liquid melamine formaldehyde resin bath, fully saturating the paper fibres. It is then dried and partially cured to B-stage — stable and handleable, but not yet fully cross-linked.
The B-stage impregnated paper is placed on the substrate (particle board, MDF, or plywood) and pressed in a hydraulic hot press. Heat and pressure complete the resin cure, permanently bonding the paper to the board surface.
Finished panels are inspected for surface uniformity, gloss consistency, adhesion, scratch resistance, and dimensional accuracy. Panels meeting specification are edge-trimmed and dispatched.
Tables, cabinets, shelves, wardrobes, desks, and chairs. The dominant surface material for flat-pack and RTA furniture worldwide.
Cabinet doors and carcass interiors. Water and heat resistance makes melamine the default specification for kitchen cabinet manufacturers globally.
Flush door skins, room dividers, partition panels, and wall cladding. The clean surface accepts standard door hardware without special treatment.
Office desk tops, shelving systems, reception counters, retail displays, and exhibition stands. Durability and easy cleaning are critical in commercial environments.
Decorative top layer in laminate and engineered flooring products. The hard melamine surface provides the wear resistance required for floor applications.
